Day 11 of 365

Unpredictability of RAD
Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease is more commonly known as Rheumatoid Arthritis or RA, but we, the RAD community, are working to change the name in order to correctly identify it and to help raise awareness. (Thank you to Eric for letting me use that perfect sentence to explain it. Check out his blog over at
Bringing Me Back Home )
RAD is very unpredictable from day to day, even hour to hour. I woke up this morning, I went with Tom to the doctor (for a change,) he had a basal cell carcinoma removed from his temple. Afterwards we did a few errands, came home did a little house work, things were doing OK. I felt like I was having a good day!
I decided to take this good day and "clean the refrigerator!" About half way through the project, I felt myself "hitting the wall". There was no turning back, as the fridge was half empty. So, I finished the fridge job, but did not tackle the freezer. Another day for that job.

RAD was not going to let me forget that I overdid it though, because, today, being Friday was also methatrexate injection day. Now, usually I take the injection in stride, and sleep off the side effects. Not today. Headache, nausea, the works, commonly know as a methatrexate "hangover" in the RAD community. Not much to do about it but try and lose myself in a movie, or sleep it off, and hope tomorrow is a better more "predictable day".

Eccl 9: 11 I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.  Blessings and a better day tomorrow, start to finish. ~ Kim

  1. Hi Kim!
This is an amazing Blog. You are not only a great photographer, you are a wonderfully descriptive writer. Did you have a chance to look at the Hippocrates Magazine I gave you? It might not be a cure, but it's worth looking into as an option. I hope Tom hangs in there too. It's hard enough when one is in need of help, but when both of you go down, it's even harder.
Keep up the good fight. I know you both will win
