Down to Nature

As my close friends know, my Sea Turtles are my therapy. I am usually able to get my "Turtle Power" by a weekly "Turtle Fix". Due to unforeseen medical issues, My "Turtle Fix" did not happen this week, and may not happen for a few weeks. Yes- I am bummed, and Yes, feeling a little "woe is me". I have several friends, who are awesome photographers, 2 of which do incredible nature still shots and video (Rick and Kevin) and 1 of which (Lindsey) does awesome photos of dogs, people, etc, you name it- and she has been a long time genuine friend of mine. Tom and I purchased a Rebel camera from Rick, and I have been playing with it, with some hints from him. This camera has "been" everywhere, with Rick, and I know the importance of this camera, in it is "not just a camera".  So, today, I took a short walk, only in my yard and just snapped and clicked away. Most of the pictures came out, well----- *NOT GOOD*! But, I captured a few, that made me feel successful, and really, the most important part of the whole experience is the little bit of time spent outside, alone, in nature, which was just what my body and soul needed. The camera was an added bonus! And- now I can hardly wait to go out and snap away and learn more.
This photo is an Acacia Tree, a hated tree in Florida, it is invasive, and we do everything to rid them from the area. (Do you see the reason I chose it to represent RAD for me today?) I also happen to be allergic to them, as well as my dog, Hawk! But- look at the photo, look at how the tree is gnarled and twisted and "confused" on which way to go next. This is similar to experiencing RAD, gnarled, twisted, and days when I am genuinely confused on which way to go next. But, then, look at the sun rays and how they hit the tree? Those rays seem to take away the "awfulness" and bring a "brightness" to the picture. So, yes- the "hated" tree somehow shows an "awareness" that I had not seen before. This short, but quiet walk in Nature, gave me the same "high" or feeling I get with my sea turtles. I foresee more of these walks in the future. And in the meantime, if you wish to see how the REAL PHOTOGRAPHERS DO IT! Check out their sites below...

Job 12:7-9 - But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.  Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?  Blessings~ Kim
