Cimzia Day
Once a month, I get to inject 2 syringes of 200 mg each in to my belly for Rheumatoid Autoimmune Disease symptom relief. The "Induction Phase" of this medication protocol, involved 2 injections of 200 mg each at 2 weeks intervals. I felt GREAT after that third part of the induction phase for about 3 days. I was hoping this was the answer. (I celebrated with my Godson at Sea world!) I started to notice a decline about 3 weeks ago-- saw the rheumatologist yesterday and she was not pleased by the lack of effect the drug had given me in the long run. But-------she wanted to give it 6 more weeks. (basically two more double injections).
Plus, she does not want any changes coming up with a procedure next week where I am under IV Sedation. So, she advised me to inject today, as scheduled. These injections have to go in your belly, as the liquid is THICK and burns. (Belly fat works best for that!) I went in to the injection thinking it was going to make me feel "full of energy" like the last one a month ago-- there goes that positive thought process, always working!! About 2 hours after the injection-- I got that really drugged sleepy feeling, and have not been able to shake it since. So, it is an early night tonight for me. Maybe tomorrow- I will wake up energized... either way, I have two doctor appointments to go to, ready or not. As always, please respect my medical decisions that I make for my body, as I respect the decisions that you make for your body- thank you!
